A unique community artwork is being created for Drumceatt Square at Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre and you can be part of it!

The ‘Our Story in the Making’ artwork will consist of 100 ceramic tiles made by 100 community participants and will be permanently sited at Drumceatt Square by 30 September.

You can take part and create your own ceramic tile to be part of the artwork by coming along to one of the free pop up workshops led by commissioned artist Fiona Shannon. They are taking place on

  • Thursday 19 August at Ballycastle Seafront from 11am-1pm
  • Friday 20 August at Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre from 11am-1pm and Ballymoney Town Hall at 3-5pm
  • Saturday 21 August at Flowerfield Arts Centre at 11am-1pm
  • Wednesday 25 August at Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre at 2-4pm

Participation is open to everyone and all ages and Fiona will help you create your own individual tile drawing to be part of the finished artwork to say what you think best represents the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

Our Mayor, Cllr Richard Holmes adds, “This project is a fantastic celebration of our people and places through the medium of art and will capture our shared love for Causeway Coast and Glens.

The finished artwork will form part of the ‘Our Story in the Making’ public artwork trail across Northern Ireland.”

The project is funded by the Northern Ireland Office as part of their Our Story in the Making: Northern Ireland Beyond 100 Centenary Programme.
