Willie Drennan and Friends celebrate Ulster Scots Week

Thursday 26th November

8pm via Facebook and Youtube

Ulster-Scots acclaimed musician, Willie Drennan, will be joined by Ian Burrows and John Trotter for an evening of traditional music, song and Ulster-Scots rhyme which will be broadcast at 8pm FREE on Flowerfield Arts Centre and Roe Valley Arts Centre’s Facebook page and YouTube channels.

Expect, as usual, an informal but spirited performance on fiddles, accordion, bagpipes, flute, drums and whatever else these talented multi-instrumentalists decide to produce on the night!

In the afternoon, families can gather round for some superb storytelling exploring tales of Ulster Scots language and culture with Janice Witherspoon, live streamed on Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre’s Facebook page at 3.30pm.

Both events are receiving financial support through Council’s Good Relations Programme. The purpose of the event is to bring people together, using creative arts as a method of connecting people from different community and cultural backgrounds using shared spaces (whether online or in a specific location) so that we can build positive relations using the medium of the creative arts.

The Arts Service will also be developing similar events for Irish Language Week in March 2021. For further information, visit www.flowerfield.org or www.roevalleyarts.com
