Three decades equals a remarkable repertoire in Scullion's world, most of it drawn from the creative genius of Condell, whose subtle lyricism and matchless melody lines bear scant kinship to anyone else on the planet" - Siobhán Long, Irish Times, June 2008

Philip King has a gift for celebrating what's about to happen and capturing what's about to disappear. He has made a career out of musical journeys, paving the way with the hugely influential band Scullion."Gráinne Faller, Irish Times, May 30th 2009

Internationally acclaimed folk rock maestros Scullion perform an intimate gig in our Danny Boy Auditorium on Friday 25 May at 8pm.

Featuring the revered Philip King, Sonny Condell and Robbie Overson, Scullion visit Limavady as part of a very select tour of sold out venues in Ireland.  Also known for his award-winning production of Other Voices for RTE, Philip King presents the stunning ‘South Wind Blows’ music programme on RTE and was a founding member of Scullion. A renowned singer/songwriter in his own right, King penned the atmospheric hit ‘I am Stretched on your Grave’ released by Sinead O’Connor.

Scullion first achieved international fame in the 1980s when they had hits including Carol and supported the late, great John Martyn on tour. In fact, Martyn shared a strong musical sensibility with the band and produced their hit album Balance and Control, released in 1980.

Also a founding member of the band and its creative core and inspiration, Sonny Condell, is known for writing the majority of Scullion songs which are powerful, poetic and soulful. One of Ireland’s most enduring creative artists, he continues to drive the sublime sound that is Scullion, from their first album Scullion of 1980 to other hit albums including White Side of Night (1983) and Spin (1985) to their most recent Under the Moon (1995). Condell is also a member of group Tír na nÓg  and has had numerous solo hits including the ever popular Down in the City.

This promises to be an atmospheric evening of amazing original music by the fabulous Scullion, enhanced by the venue’s cabaret style set-up and patrons are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
