The comedy Extra Time is full of recognisable characters, full of warmth, humanity and depth
Saturday 25 May, 8pm
Set on an evening in August 2015 in a rural bar close to the Sperrin Mountains, Killgaddy Gaels have just won their championship county semi-final; a young German university student has filmed the game and will film all that takes place in the bar that evening, as part of his studies. As the drink flows, inhibitions disappear and tongues loosen. Comic banter soon merges with discussion about identity and secret personal histories. There are slagging matches, match commentaries, drunken dancing, storytelling, arguments, secrets and revelations. A wonderful comedy rooted in recognisable local characters which explores rural Northern Irish culture, male friendships, identity and much more.
