Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. Directed by Michel Hazanavicius this film recently won five Oscars at this year’s Academy awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor. An absolute cinematic treat!

The happy ending had me on my feet cheering throughout the final credits. I can’t wait to see it again. –Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
