mary coughlan
We are delighted to contribute this evening with Irish theatrical torch-blues legend, Mary Coughlan, as part of the Limavady Jazz & Blues Festival 2012. Telling her unique story in her inimitable style through the many songs she has recorded over the last 25 years, this is a performance not to be missed! 2010 was the 25th anniversary of Mary Coughlan’s seminal album Tired and Emotional which was Ireland’s biggest selling album in the year of release and is now seven times platinum. The following year, she released the acclaimed The House of Ill Repute, hailed by Q Magazine as ‘a serious return to form’, complimented by the publication of her bestselling autobiography Bloody Mary. Performing to international venues, including a sold out show at the Sydney Opera House last year, this is your chance to witness Ireland’s best loved jazz singer in our intimate auditorium.
