clive barnes & david browne murray
A guitarist, singer and songwriter of rare quality, Clive has released four albums, the latest of which, The Ghost Country, garnered rave four and five star reviews with previous album Welcome To Farewell winning Album of the Year in US publication Acoustic Guitar. He has toured throughout the US and Europe as a solo artist, as well as guitarist with the likes of Jeff Beck, Alison Krauss, David Crosby, Dr. John, Gregg Allman, and many more. RTE’s Harry Guiren noted “Clive is a guitarist who can make one acoustic sound like six. Barnes transported the entire, hushed venue across the Atlantic to where the paths taken by the Delta Blues, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen all led to his own special territory.”
As a young guitar student in 2007, David Browne Murray won an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the City of Belfast School of Music’. After hearing the mighty Tommy Emmanuel in concert, David decided to make the transition from classical guitar to steel string acoustic and recently became the outright winner of the USA 2011 Yamaha Six String Project, judged by a panel that included Lee Ritenour and Steve Lukather! You can expect an eclectic mix of original compositions as well as arrangements of great tunes by the likes of Pendulum, Faithless and The Beatles!
Exuding a throat catching melancholy, and romantic and bleak in turns, it sounds like an album made for all eternity - Hotpress
