andreas varady and david lyttle
The very best of contemporary jazz presented in partnership with the Limavady Jazz and Blues Festival.
Hailed by international press as one of the most important jazz musicians to emerge from Ireland in recent years, David Lyttle teams up with thirteen-year old jazz virtuoso Andreas Varady to present music from their acclaimed joint album Questions. Together they recently performed to standing ovations at London’s historic Ronnie Scott’s where they received four star reviews from both The Times and Evening Standard and also on The Late Late Show. Both have achieved international recognition and have toured throughout Europe and beyond. Questions was also recently selected as Guitarist’s Album of the Week.
“Questions is a delight: fun, accessible, unpretentious and positive…outstanding.” All About Jazz
“The word ‘awsome’ is vastly overused, but it might just fit.” Jazz Journal
“Let’s say this first: we’ve never heard a 13-year-old play at this level. Moreover, Slovakian-born, Hungarian gypsy Varady outplays any number of others in the genre, two, three and four times his age. Frightening speed, complex harmony and chording, all delivered with flashes of feel that belie his age.” Guitarist
