big telly present the scarlet web
Fancy a special, spooky night out over the Halloween weekend that doesn’t involve trick or treating or kids parties? The superb Big Telly Theatre Company present the atmospheric, riveting theatre production The Scarlet Web on Friday 26 October, 8pm.
The Scarlet Web explores two stories a century apart, one about the last witch burned in Ireland, the other about internet infidelity in the present time. Two worlds with common ground and two couples who don’t know each other as they thought they did. Economic pressure, pipe dreams and a belief in made up worlds link rural 19th Century Ireland with today’s technology driven domain, but a firewall hasn’t been invented yet which protects us from ourselves.
Witchcraft and wifi combine in another wildly imaginative theatre production from the internationally acclaimed Big Telly Theatre Company. Desima Connolly, Arts & Cultural Services Officer comments ‘We’re delighted to bring Big Telly back again after the enormous success of Puckoon last year. Part of our great Halloween events weekend, The Scarlet Web is the perfect night out for the grown-ups, and pure escapism from the trick and treating and bonfire mania. Big Telly always deliver high quality, engrossing theatre, and The Scarlet Web will delight audiences.’
