limavady jazz & blues festival
Last week was an amazingly busy week with an event in our auditorium every night from Monday to Saturday. We were lucky enough to have a few partnered events provided by the Limavady Jazz & Blues Festival. These included jazz pianist John Leighton, with us on Thursday 9th, followed by the renowned Johnny Dickinson and Henry McCullough on Friday 10th. To have such an array of jazz and blues talent under our roof was simply remarkable, and we can safely say that the talent reached an all-time high on the Saturday evening with drum wizard David Lyttle accompanied by Andreas Varady and saxophonist Paul Booth rounding everything off in what we believe to be the best musical performance in the RVACC to date! Even Daryl, technician, did a short boogie on the balcony!
The Limavady Big Band Sound also performed in our packed Drumceatt Square on saturday afternoon and thankfully the weather held out – just about…
We owe an enormous thanks to the Limavady Jazz & Blues Festival Committee for supporting the RVACC events and also to the artists who graced our stage. Thanks, too, to all who came and enjoyed the performances. This entry was posted on June 13th, 2011 at 3:29 pm by admin
